As far as I can remember, I have always been dreaming of traveling, or more exactly, of living abroad. The picturesque quality of exotic countries is not of particular interest to me, but I am fascinated by the differences, differences in culture, in languages, in geographical features, in poetry, in cooking. During the last ten years, I have been casting an eye over people and landscapes from Europe to America and from Africa to Asia, with the sole desire to show the poetic dimension of everydays'life. In my personal photographic work, I use my camera like a sketch book in order to catch new landscapes, new faces. I use it as well as an investigation tool, in an attempt to understand further human activities like:
The Gold diggers in French Guyana (A portrait of “papa” Avitis, a 95 years old gold washer); the Boating on the Maroni River, French Guyana (In French Guyana, from Saint-Laurent to Maripasoula, through the rapids, the Djuka boatmen's everyday life); the Rice culture in Lao the Relations between elephants and human beings (Focus on this very special relationship between men and the biggest mammal on earth).
